Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our state-of-the-art facility is heated with forced hot air from 2 waste oil heaters and 2 natural gas heaters. In the warmer months, we keep the temperature controlled with 3 seventeen-foot ceiling fans.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have 4 service advisors, one dispatcher, one on-site warranty administrator, one business development consultant, 3 service porters and 4 parts personnel.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
We are open Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Friday 7:30am-5:00pm and Saturday 7:30am-4:00p.m. We offer a 5-day workweek totaling 40 clocked hours.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide built in toolboxes (no need for an expensive toolbox here! ) including all Honda diagnostic equipment, laptops, ipads, all new alignment machine, tire changers, road force tire balancers, all new lifts, torches, overhead air reels, overhead oil guns, overhead exhaust system and any Honda designated special tool.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Clean and quiet break room with refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and vending machines.
How many bays does your shop have?

How many repair orders do you average per month?
1300
What is your parts ordering process?
All parts communication is handled electronically from your own bay, if you are not in your bay then you are not making money.
What is your policy on side work?
Working on your own car is permitted with a repair order after all customer/internal work is completed.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Monthly employee appreciation cookouts, coolers full of water and gatorade, large community presence, employee discounts, great team/family environment.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We offer online Honda training at no cost and paid training at the Honda training center.

Monthly informal one on one meetings and annual performance reviews.
What type of safety training is required?
A/C certification required (can be completed here at no cost).
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our younger/ less experienced techs work with the service manager for the first 2 weeks, then will shadow one of our experienced technicians until everyone is comfortable.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Our General Manager has been a special guest speaker at the local tech school to spread the word of how lucrative the automotive technician field can be.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
We will continue to be the best dealership in Ulster County to purchase a Honda, service your Honda and to be employed at.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
We are heavily involved in the community with charities/foundations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County, Ulster Youth build, Season Gives, Light the night walk, Ulster Hose holiday bike giveaway & more!
Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Applicants are screened by the hiring manager and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
One on one question and answer with the hiring manager.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Background and MVR are conducted prior to offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Depending on the number of applicants and results from Background & MVR which varies
